Abstract: Existing studies on the impact of built environment on bike-sharing commonly use the trip volume as the main indicator of travel demand, which may fail to capture the area-level attractiveness for bike-sharing trips and its spatial organization. Based on the bike-sharing order data from Shenzhen, this study constructs a bike-sharing mobility potential field and characterizes the built environment attributes from five dimensions: density, diversity, design, destination accessibility, and public transit proximity. A multiscale geographically weighted regression model is employed to analyze the spatiotemporal heterogeneity of the impacts of built environment on bike-sharing mobility potential. The results show that, compared with the model using the trip demand as the dependent variable, the mobility potential reveals more localized built environment effects. The bandwidths of non-motorized road density, distance to the business district center, and metro accessibility decrease from global or medium-to-large scales to local scales, which indicate that the formation of bike-sharing attractiveness exhibits stronger local spatial dependence. The distance to the business district center has an overall negative effect on the mobility potential, suggesting that commercial agglomeration strengthens the tendency of bike-sharing trips to cluster toward urban core areas. Population density has a stable positive effect on the mobility potential, with a stronger influence during the evening peak. The effect of metro accessibility on the mobility potential exhibits the spatial differentiation characterized by zonal clustering and node-oriented patterns, while the positive effect of non motorized road density on the bike-sharing attractiveness varies across local contexts.
