    Abstract ( )   PDF (350KB) ( )

To grasp chances and meet challenges after China join in WTO,some counter
measures are to be taken: to set up competive field and order by "Jien Ji's way in horse raceutilizing "advantages", meet the changes with self-changing, launch attacks so as to defend; and
form information transport industry. Some proposals may be useful in practice①Issue code for the transportation market on time.② Prior to develop air network around Shanghai airport. ③Combine potential enterprises to form huge group.④Divide transportation market reasonably.⑤Collect intelligence to strive for international project.⑥Construct new prot&
channel for Shanghai International Shopping Center.⑦Modernize Shanghai railway system to
connect Asia and Europe.⑧Arranging some interstate passenger hub.⑨Developing modern logistics by information exchange.⑩Let enterprises guild to play mroe roles in activity.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (254KB) ( )
The concept of the Comprehensive Intelligent Transportration System (CITS)is
put forward in the paper from the view of point of the three flows: Passenger Flow, Good Flow
and Data Flow on the Globe in the future. CITS can be further divided into the two
subsystems; City Intelligent Transportation System and District Intelligent Transportation
System. In other words, The CITS of a country or an area is consists of several subsystems.
The paper describes the fundamental configuration of the two subsystems.

    2001, 1(2): 115-118 .
    Abstract ( )   PDF (270KB) ( )
Public transport preference scenario is generally used to promote urban passenger
transport performance. This paper presents a set of evaluation approaches and corresponding
application program for public transport preference scenario,in order to quantitatively decide
the degree of public transport priority, and help to equilibrate public transport and other traffic
modes optimally, Detailed discussions are put on three levels, passenger transport pattern
decision, local public transport planning, and public transport route-way design. The approaches will contribute to urban passenger stransport strategy making, and will coherently improve local public transport planning and public transport route-way design in a heuristic way.

Capacity Analysis to Signalized Intersections under
    Mixed Traffic Environment
    LI Jian-xin, MAO Bao-hua
    2001, 1(2): 119-123 .
    Abstract ( )   PDF (274KB) ( )

Capacity analysis to intersections is very important in traffic engineering as non-motorized flow is of significant effects on road capacity. This paper reviews the world-wide
situation on intersections with non-motorized flow and analyzes the characteristics and problems
of current achievements. Based on the attributes of mixed traffic with great proportion of non-motorized
vehicles in China, the paper establishes the capacity models on intersections with signal in urban areas. The conclusions made here are of great significance for further research to develop a simulation system.

It's a very important and complex issue about optimization of train formation plan. For gigantism of the system and a lot of complicated factors, which the most is uncertain,we must synthesize model operation and human-computer interaction and data calling to solve this puzzle, and offer valid data support for decision-maker,and satisfy requirements of railway modernization. In this paper,we analyze the general architecture and elemental function of train formation plan DSS,by the system foundational request.

    Preliminary Discussion to Comprehensive Transport
    Hub Intelligent System
    ZHANG Guo-wu
    2001, 1(2): 129-133 .
    Abstract ( )   PDF (285KB) ( )
Transportation is a complex large system. The theories and methods of System Engineering should be applied in researching and developing the transportation system. Our
government suggests that comprehensive transport system development is our target to develop
transportation. It has been a long time that transportation system did not reach the objective of
comprehensive and harmonious development because of management system and other reasons.
The author has been carried out the research of transport system engineering for a long time,
especially the research of intelligent transport system in recent years. He took part in the
research of comprehensive transport hub plan, harmonizing, and intelligent development in
Shanghai, which is provided by the Ministry of State Science and Technology and suggests that
comprehensive transport systerm can be formed with the research and development of transport
intelligent engineering, further more the functions, structure, and inner organization and
product of comprehensive transport hub. Based on these, he suggests comprehensive transport
information engineering be set up. All the transport methods can be informalized and
connected. The build and development of our comprehensive transport system can be improved
and strengthened with the information share during the period of intelligent engineering

    Transport Corridor Systematic Analysi
    MANG Wen-chang
    2001, 1(2): 134-139 .
    Abstract ( )   PDF (407KB) ( )
The theory of transport corridor began to take a shape ever since the transport system has entered the development stage of integrated transportation system, and the theory is
Still on its way up. This paper gives a systematic analysis to the definition, types and composition of transport corridor, and the perspective of combing transprot linkages and
transportation regionalization has been emphasized. In the paper transport corridor is defined as the combination of important transportation mainlines linking different regions. Transport corridors are the core parts of transportation network, carrying out most of inter-regional transportation linkages, and affecting heavily the overall efficiency of transportation system. The major types of transport corridor are international transport corridor, regional transport
corridor, interprovincial transport corridor and intra-provincial transport corridor.
The development of modern transport corridor is essential to China’s transportation development in the future. The division of transportation regions nationwide should go in front of the identification and analysis of transport corridor. Taking the dynamic location pattern of
China’s inter-regional transportation lines into consideration based on transportation geographical analysis, China could be divided into 5 transportation economic regions
tentatively. Correspondingly, China’s inter-regional transport corridors can be divided into 6 groups.
Finally, the prospect of major inter-regional transport corridors is analyzed briefly.

Some New Ideas on Transport Planning Theory
    MA Chuan-sheng, XIONG Gui-line
    2001, 1(2): 144-147 .
    Abstract ( )   PDF (247KB) ( )
It is very important to study the basic characteristics of traffic flow in transport
planning theory. Based on a series of strict definitions, this paper analyzes the non-complete
observability of OD metrix on mathematics. It also demonstrates that it is possible to get a
satisfactory prediction based on some non-practical OD metrix. Some simpler procedure has
thus been drawn from these theorems.

    2001, 1(2): 156-158 .
    Abstract ( )   PDF (188KB) ( )
Based on the important effects of Qiongzhou Channel Passageway to China economy development and combined with the engineering geology, hydrogeology, environment
conditions, practical features as well as modern military strategy level, the authors analyzed systematically the effect for resisting the damages of war and natural calamityof underwater tunnels. To compare with bridges the tunnels have quite clear superiorities of keeping present environment conditions and have the features of all-weather lifeline. The conclusion of this paper is that the plan of tunneling is better than bridge project for Qiongzhou Channel Passageway.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (338KB) ( )
This paper cleaily describes qualitative and quantitaive relationship between signal phasing and timing in the process of signal design.According signal phase’s character, paper proposes theory architecture of signal phasing with expert system and designs completely
feasible knowledge base. Signal phase generating and optimizing model is presented. To signal phase optimizing model, numbers of conflicting points between all kinds of traffic flows, time&space resource utility ratio and total lost time of signal phase are introduced toevaluate
signal phase schemes. Paper provides complete architecture and strong theory basis for developing signal phasing with expert system.
