摘要： 《智能交通运输系统工程导论》是由张国伍教授主编，中国电子工业出版社出版的学术专著.本刊现将该书的前言发表以供读者参考.前言全面地介绍了智能交通运输系统的定义及其内含，阐述智能交通运输建设发展是一项完整的系统工程实践.介绍了智能的产生和定义，阐述了系统的发展和形成，以及系统工程方法论.从系统工程方法论的观点阐述了智能交通系统工程的实践并在此基础上列出了本书的十五章的标题.

Abstract: The Introduction of Intelligent Transport Systems Engineering edited by Prof. Guowu Zhang is a technical composition published by the China Electronic Industry Publishing House in 2003. As the preface of the book, the article systematically introduces the definition and its content of Intelligent Transport System (ITS). It points out that the development of ITS is an absolute practice of System Engineering, analyzes the definition of the Intelligence with its generation and development, discusses the methodologies of System Engineering used in ITS. With the viewpoint of system engineering, author expatiates the state-of-art of ITS at world-wide level. A list of chapter titles has finally been offered at the end of the article
