Abstract: The process of queuing on a single carriageway under the affection of the buses is mainly studied with the traffic wave theory as the guidance and the signalized intersection as the analysis object. By introducing and statistically analyzing the use of saturated-headways between vehicles of different types with the characteristics of the mixed traffic, the transmissions of the traffic wave during the signal cycles is described to explore the variation laws of the average saturated-headway and density of dissipation and improve the traditional models. Based on the survey and computation in MATLAB, the calibration and validation of the model are conducted as well as relevant evaluation indexes and variations are obtained, with consideration of the actual traffic conditions at the Sidaokou signalized intersection of Beijing city. The study finds that the traffic wave theory has strong applicability in the queuing analysis of the bus-car mixed traffic flows and the research on variations of the saturated-headways is conducive to portray the process of the transmission behaviors of the traffic waves while queuing more accurately.
