Evaluation Index of Urban Road Guide Sign Set

Referring to national standards and related rules and norms as well as the previous study, the paper discusses the analysis and evaluation of urban road guide signs sets. It presents the analysis and evaluation norm of urban road guide signs set, based on abovementioned norms, proposes several evaluation indexes about urban road guide signs set, such as guide information overload rate, various types of identification information rate, guide information classification rate, intersection road guide signs coverage rate, and so on. And then, it takes Zhujiang New Town’s trunk road network in Guangzhou province of China as a example. Based on the present road guide signs data, it calculates the evaluation indexes values, refers to the relevant standards and experience knowledge and fits with the actual situation. The results indicate that the guide signs of Zhujiang new town are basically reasonable.
